About

My name is Madi. I'm an illustrator living and working in a little town in Dorset. The majority of my work combines a collage and mixed media approach, incorporating all kinds of different papers, fabrics and textures, often with the addition of playful hand-drawn typography.

My illustrations are inspired by childhood themes, woodland creatures, monsters and my enormous found paper collection, which includes everything from magazines and old envelopes to wallpaper samples and paper doilies.

Since graduating from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth in 2009, with a first class honours degree in Illustration, I've developed my own distinctive method of creating imagery. My passion continues to lie in children's book illustration; I love creating imagery to capture child's imagination. I'd love to have my illustrations published in a children's book. However, I also enjoy creating illustrations for a wide variety of different purposes, including editorial work for magazines, line drawings for children's colouring books, and designs for greetings cards; the latter are especially fun as they involve creating hand-made typography.

I have created work for a number of magazines, including Lionheart Magazine and Amelia's Magazine.

I am available for commissions, collaborations and other lovely creative projects. If you are interested in my work, or would just like to say hello, I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to contact me.
